Meet Me

Looking forward to meeting  you...

Hi, I'm Laura, but my family, friends, and clients call me Lori....For 25 years I have had the privilege and honor of working with hundreds of extraordinary people in my private practice, many just like you, who were ready to face their personal challenges and make difficult changes in their lives.  I look forward to supporting you at this time in your life.  Thank you for taking the time to take care of yourself.

My treatment approach

My professionally trained approach is solution-focused, client-centered, and solidly based on a family systems model.   What that means is that my approach is centered around you, what makes you (and your partner/family) function and focus on finding new ways to fix new or old problems that interrupt your life and how you want to live it.  More specifically, the therapy I do is based on finding practical solutions and together creating realistic goals for your counseling sessions that you feel are attainable for your lifestyle.  If you have experienced trauma, I am equipped to help you work to resolve these issues as well.
My treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback (not advice) on how to help you resolve current problems and long-standing negative behavior patterns that have prevented you from living the life you dream of.  I incorporate a blend of conventional, alternative, and creative, artistic approaches with each person who becomes my client.  I do my very best to approach each issue with sensitivity and compassion, and I strongly believe in building upon your strengths to help you identify and achieve your individual/couple and/or family life goals. If appropriate, I use my art room to incorporate all kinds of artistic mediums (painting, collaging, and mixed media journal books during therapy sessions as well assigning some work to complete in between sessions (only if this suits you).  My treatment of choice is using EMDR with those of you who have experienced trauma that you feel the ongoing affects in your life.
